Ambitious Kids Inc. is a growing non-profit agency that provides develop-by-demand assistance, after school tutoring, outreach lectures, and recreational activities for low-income and at-risk students, the spirit and mission behind our organization is to imbue each student with a strong sense of self-empowerment, a lot of hope, and increased confidence. Our students soon embrace that they are naturally equipped with the same potential as their suburban peers despite their surroundings.

 “We are very pleased to announce this appointment,” reported Maggie Castor “Keon will bring leadership and creativity to the Ambitious Kids programs and a deep sense of commitment to our region’s nonprofit sector. He has served nonprofits at all program, fundraising, executive and leadership levels, and has a breadth of perspective and experience.”

Keon’s resume includes over 10 years of executive planning, administration, communications and marketing experience in the nonprofit sector. He is master’s prepared in education administration and is in the process of completing his doctoral coursework in the area of organizational leadership. Keon has served as Regional Director of A to Z In-home Tutoring, as well as teacher and department head for the Miami Dade County School district. He also served as chair of the American Cancer Society, and has served as a board member of several local nonprofit organizations. Prior to this appointment Mr. Lewis was an Outreach Specialist for South Florida Workforce, developing jobs and implementing educational and leadership programs and supporting capacity building grant projects.

“I look forward to continuing to serve and partner with the area’s nonprofit organizations in this new capacity,” remarks Keon. “I am dedicated to this sector because it provides vital human services and cultural enrichment to our community. Ambitious Kids Inc. plays a key role in supporting and developing nonprofits’ contribution to this region’s quality of life.”

Ambitious Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing centralized and innovative information, education, and consulting support for the nonprofit sector in Miami’s low socio economic areas..

The day is designed to provide a day of fun activities and awareness to the legacy of peace and brotherhood espoused by Nobel Peace Prize winner, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We are asking community organizations, citizens, churches, and local businesses to join us to help make this event bigger and better for the children and families in Broward County.

Join Volunteer Broward and Ambitious Kids, Inc. in collecting and donating 10,000 books to classrooms and school libraries throughout Broward County.

Our goal this Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is to engage students, families, local businesses, and service organizations in gathering new and gently used books and filling up empty shelves of school libraries and classrooms of four under-resourced elementary schools.

We need volunteers to help us collect new and gently used books in your homes, neighborhoods,schools,businesses, and service organizations.

Concession Stand Volunteers

Ambitious Kids, Inc. is looking for energetic people that are interested in volunteering at the Sun Life Stadium concession stand. If you are a responsible parent, college or high school student and you want to apply, contact our concession coordinator... Michelle Goulbourne (786) 280-9955.
All proceeds will fund our programs to help youths stay in school.

Skills

• Concession Stand Volunteer: As a Concession Stand Volunteer your responsibilities may include preparing food (hot dogs, popcorn, soda, fries, etc...) cashier and taking inventory. We are seeking people with great leadership skills, a great personality, a team player and a pleasant attitude.

Job Description:

Performs duties required to sell concessions to spectators at various events.


Example of Duties:

• Sells concessions including soft drinks and food items to spectators at various events.
• Receives money and makes correct change for customer.
• Monitors money in cash drawer to ensure adequate change is available.
• Performs other duties such as clean up of concession stand and counting revenues as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge and skill in handling money including making change.
• Skill in public relations.
• Ability to effectively communicate.

Minimum Qualifications:
• No prior experience required.
Volunteers must be 16yrs of age and have a photo ID on their person. Volunteers involved in the sale of alcoholic beverage must be 18yrs of age.
